Joyce Galbraith Bridges age 76 of El Dorado, AR passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at CHI St. Vincent North Health System in Sherwood, AR. Joyce was born on April 29, 1942 in El Dorado the late Floy English Galbraith and George Galbraith. Joyce began working at A&W Root Beer Stand when she was just a young woman, which is where she met her future husband R.B. Bridges. She later worked at Samples Department Store, Bell Ladyman Department Store, Chick A Dilly Chicken and was the owner and operator of Handee Wash Laundromat until her retirement. Joyce had a green thumb and could grow most anything and especially loved spending time in her yard, growing and tending her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whom will be truly missed by all. Joyce’s legacy will live on through her gift of skin, tissue and bone to the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency so that others lives may be impacted by her gift of organ donation.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband R.B. Bridges; one brother, George Galbraith Jr.; three sisters, Merchel Butler, Juanita Greer and Peggy Knight.
Survivors include; one daughter, Linda McLarty and spouse Randy of El Dorado; one son, Greg Bridges of El Dorado; four grandchildren, Summer Bridges and spouse Ashley, Michelle Ables and spouse Jesse, R.J. McLarty, and Courtny Bridges; two great granddaughters, Serenity Bridges and Mia Ables; two special K9 Companions, Cream and Stormy and a pet parrot, Poppy.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Bridges Home, 6033 North West Avenue in El Dorado. Family and friends are invited to attend.
