Public meeting slated today to identify outdoor parks and recreation needs in El Dorado

Local residents are invited to identify potential outdoor parks and recreation needs and priorities during a public meeting at 4 p.m. today in the Council Chamber of City Hall. The meeting is part of the process for the city to apply for a matching grant with the Arkansas Department of Tourism’s Outdoor Recreation Grant Program. Once needs have been identified, city officials will select potential projects to include in the grant application. The El Dorado City Council recently passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Veronica Smith-Creer to move forward with the application process. A potential project that has already been identified is a major improvement and expansion plan for the El Dorado-Union County Recreation Complex.
