Stevens faces additional charges on warrants for petition to revoke probation and failure to appear. Police said Stevens was issued several traffic citations during a stop April 20 in the area of Hillsboro and College. On June 19, officers said they learned of anactive arrest warrant for failure to appear and that Stevens had provided a false name during the traffic stop.

• Tarkio D. Willingham, 49, of the 2200 block of Gaines, was arrested June 17 for aggravated assault on a family or household member and possession of a firearm by certain persons. Officers were called to the Gaines Street residence in reference to a domestic disturbance and Willingham’s wife said he threatened her with a gun during an argument. The woman said she grabbed a baseball bat in self-defense but then lowered the bat and struck Willingham in the left eye with her fist, forcing him to loosen his grip on the handgun. She said she quickly grabbed the gun and hid it before calling 911. She said Willingham left the residence upon realizing she was calling 911. While officers were on the scene, a neighbor and relative of the complainant called and said Willingham was at his residence in the 2100 block of Gaines, according to a police report. Police went to the residence and took Willingham into custody without incident. Willingham told officers he was lying in bed when his wife ordered him out of the bedroom. When he refused, she struck him in the eye and pointed the gun at him, Willingham said. He said he then left the residence and went to his relative’s house. Police said Willingham was treated at Medical Center of South Arkansas for severe swelling and bruising to his left eye. He was then transported to the Union County Jail. Police seized the handgun as evidence.

• Jeronimo S. Ramirez, 33, of the 700 block of West Second, was arrested June 15 for non-financial identity fraud, speeding, reckless driving and no driver’s license. Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of College and Casa Linda after spotting a vehicle speeding while traveling north on College. Officers noted that a child was walking a dog in the immediate area of the traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Ramirez, was immediately taken into custody for reckless driving. Police said Ramirez presented two identification cards, one from Mexico and the other from Texas. Ramirez’s first name was spelled differently on each card and the Texas ID card appeared to be fictitious, police said, noting that some of the writing on the card was “blurry and distorted.” Police said the ID number on the Texas card returned to a woman in Corpus Christie.
