El Dorado Cancer Patients Lead Campaign to Provide Heated Chemo Chairs for CARTI El Dorado

Heat the Seats Campaign on track to raise $210,000 and purchase 28 chairs

CARTI El Dorado is thrilled to announce its Heat the Seats campaign. Led by a committee of five CARTI patients, the campaign’s goal is to raise $210,000 in order to purchase 28 recliners outfitted with heated seats for patients to sit in while they receive their chemotherapy treatments. In the first six weeks of the campaign, the committee has raised $130,000. The chairs can recline and have four different heating elevations. The design and construction of these heated infusion recliners will ensure a better patient experience, resulting in warm, comfortable, spacious support during hours-long treatments. Since then, he has treated more than 4,000 cancer patients from south Arkansas and north Louisiana, and administered more than 7,000 chemotherapy and hematology infusions. In the last 12 months, CARTI El Dorado has served more than 1,600 cancer patients from south Arkansas and north Louisiana (Union, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Columbia and Ouachita Counties), with nearly 700 of those patients calling Union County home. “A pillar of CARTI’s mission is to bring world-class cancer care into communities across our state. It’s truly a calling we feel entrusted to provide for our neighbors who are living in smaller, often rural, communities where access to cancer care is lacking. Instead of having these patients spend hours in the car driving to and from treatment, we make ourselves part of their community. It was this calling that led to starting a practice in El Dorado in 1998. I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the care of these patients and to be able to fight for my neighbors battling cancer in the south.” CARTI El Dorado, located at 528 West Faulkner Street, El Dorado, is open to patients on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. About CARTI CARTI is a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary cancer care provider offering medical and surgical oncology, diagnostic radiology, and radiation oncology at locations throughout the state to provide convenient access for cancer patients.
