Corkey Hugh Ely, 72, of Felsenthal passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born August 27, 1946 in El Dorado, AR. Corkey was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and a member of Jack Mayfield Memorial Methodist Church. He was a welder and worked all over the nation on various pipeline and construction projects, and he was a small business owner in Union County.
Preceding him in death are his father, Will Ely; and mother, Bessie Cain Ely Broussard.
Survivors include his sisters, Janace Ely McCollum, Sandra Ely Mathews; brother, Larry Thomas Broussard, nieces and nephews, Roberta Mason, Joe Mathews, Melissa McCollum, Hapsy Broussard-Glover, Cory Broussard; and six great nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Harper Springs Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
