DAVID A. JOHNSTON

David A. Johnston, age 61 of Springdale, Arkansas died on June 30, 2019 of a heart attack.

David was born on July 2, 1957 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the youngest son of William Peary Johnston, Jr., and Dorothy Sue Bryant Johnston.

He graduated from Norphlet High School and served in the military for a short time before attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was employed by KNWA?KFTA television station in Fayetteville, at times operating a camera or a teleprompter. He enjoyed watching Razorback sports. He also loved cooking, specifically for those coworkers. His cheerful personality was appreciated by everyone and he had his own special laugh. He will be missed by all those who loved him. Davie was an organ donor, so even in death he was serving others. Before he passed on into eternity, he gave his heart to Jesus.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother William “Bud” Johnston of Grand Cane, Louisiana. Survivors include his brother Gene Johnston and his wife Hilde of Hot Springs, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was cremated and his family will hold a private memorial service at a future date.
