Jackie J. Bevill, (a.k.a. Voice of the Bearden Bears for forty years and Bearden Bear Historian covering 1946 thru 2018), age 83, of Bearden died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was born June 18, 1936, the son of W.E. Bevill and Edna Faye Delamar Bevill. Jackie was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Bearden, ordained as deacon on December 7, 1969, a member of the Gideons International since August of 1976, and was a retired sports reporter for sixty years thru the 2015 season. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sylvia Anthony Bevill. Jackie is survived by two sons, Gary Bevill, M.D. (Donna) of El Dorado, Mickey Bevill (Tamra) of Calico Rock; one daughter, Judy Peters (David) of Hot Springs; one brother, Jim Bevill (Diane) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, David Bevill (Darcy) of Cypress, TX, Laura Beth Matson (Andy) of Tulsa, OK, Rylie Bevill Barnes (Logan) of Calico Rock, Rachel Cottrell (Jordan), of Fayetteville, Gabe Bevill and Eliza Bevill of Fayetteville; great grandchildren, Kate Bevill, Jack Bevill, Olivia Bevill of Cypress, TX, Carol June Matson and Georgia Beth Matson of Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, P.O. Box 449, Bearden, AR 71720. Visitation will be Saturday, 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at First Southern Baptist Church in Bearden. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church with Rev.
