Parkers Chapel, Strong pick up wins in conference play

PARKERS CHAPEL - Terrell Malone scored 17 points and Preston Stivender added 11 points, as Parkers Chapel knocked off Fordyce 55-42 in 8-2A play Tuesday night.

The Trojans (12-8, 8-3) trailed 13-12 at the end of the first quarter before taking a 22-19 lead at intermission.

Parkers Chapel extended the lead to 40-27 after three periods of play before winning by the final margin.

“Defensively, we played really well, especially in the second and third quarters,” said Parkers Chapel coach Josh Langley. “It took us a quarter to adjust to what they were doing, but once we got them figured out, we were able to make some big stops.”

Langley also singled out several players for their play.

“We all played well defensively, but I thought Caleb Jacobs and Isaac Evans brought a lot of energy for us defensively,” Langley said. “Amari Bell was two points short of a double-double.”
