A fire in Parkers Chapel on Monday engulfed a house on Hinson Road, leaving a still-smoking scene among the remains of the structure Tuesday afternoon.

El Dorado Fire Chief Chad Mosby said the El Dorado Fire Department received a request for mutual aid from the Parkers Chapel Volunteer Fire Department at 3:47 p.m. Monday. When they arrived at the scene, he said, the home was fully engulfed and firefighters took a defensive approach to keep the flames from spreading further.

A representative of the Parkers Chapel Volunteer Fire Department was unable to be reached by press time Tuesday.

No one appeared to be home at the time of the fire, but there was one injury. An El Dorado fire department employee was injured while fighting the fire. Mosby said he was unable to release any specific information on the employee, the nature of the injury or their condition, except that the person was treated at the Medical Center of South Arkansas and later released.
