The Arkansas Activities Association announced Tuesday which schools had submitted bids to host postseason tournaments to be held later this year.

Among Union County schools, Parkers Chapel and Junction City were the lone schools to submit bids.

Parkers Chapel, who will begin defending its 2A state title in baseball next month, submitted a bid to host both the regional and state tournaments for baseball and softball.

Junction City also submitted a bid to host the regional tournament for both baseball and softball.

Also bidding for the regional tournament for baseball and softball were Woodlawn and Horatio.

Salem and Carlisle submitted bids to host the baseball and softball state tournaments.

There will be plenty of competition for the regional tournament with Cossatot River, Hampton, Lafayette County and Mount Ida all placing bids.

Carlisle, Marmaduke and Quitman placed bids to host the state tournament.

The meeting to determine who will be hosting is scheduled to be held Thursday afternoon in Little Rock.
