Police respond to two shots fired incidents

El Dorado police have responded this week to two reports of shots fired, with each incident occurring within a day of each other.

In one incident, a house was struck by bullets and in the second, bullets struck a vehicle and evidence found on the scene indicated that someone had possibly run away during the shooting, according to police reports.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

On Monday, officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 900 block of Wilson.

A woman told police that someone fired shots through her screen door as she slept. She noted that the front door was open at the time.

Police said there were several bullets on the floor inside of the residence and what appeared to be bullet holes in the wall.

The screen door was shattered and there were two bullet holes in the screen, police said.

Officers said another bullet was found in front a window next to the front door, noting that the window was broken.

Police recovered three bullets from the residence. They said a fourth bullet was believed to have been lodged in the victim’s bedroom wall.

Another woman who was inside the residence reported hearing three to four gunshots that “sounded close.”

The other woman said she was in the back room of the residence and did not immediately realize the house had been struck by bullets.

The women told police they did not see anyone near the residence at the time of the shooting.

Officers noted that they tried to speak the woman’s neighbors about the incident, but they “were uncooperative”

At 7:38 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 1200 block of North Miles in reference to shots fired.

Residents told police they heard several gunshots fired in close proximity to the area.

Officers found several shell casings on both sides of the street and in the yard of a residence in the area.

A cellphone, sandals and a hat that were strewn on the ground gave the impression that someone had run east through the yard, perhaps to escape the gunfire, police said.

Officers said they found a bullet hole in one of the unoccupied vehicles in the yard.

The owner of the vehicle, who was not present when the shooting occurred, declined to file a police report.

While investigating the incident, officers recovered two loaded rifles from a dog house on the south end of residence.

People inside the residence said they did not know who the guns belonged to, according to a police report.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and

police have received information about possible suspects in the incident.

No arrests have been made.

Contempt of court

An El Dorado man and three Camden residents are expected to appear today in 35th Judicial District Court for contempt of court, two days after they allegedly brought cellphones inside a court session.

An El Dorado Police Department warrants officer issued four misdemeanor arrest warrants during first appearance hearings Monday, noting that several signs are posted and announcements made informing visitors that cellphones are prohibited inside the courtroom.

Three of the four warrants were issued to Camden residents Tasia S. Isreal, 26; Gary B. Green, 29; and Shamirrah D. Childs, 28.

Childs was also wanted on a Conway Police Department arrest warrant for failure to appear.

Marcus L. Levingston, 39, of 1912 E. Second, was also held in contempt of court Monday.
