El Dorado upended Texarkana 52-34 Friday at Wildcat Arena. The Lady Wildcats improved to 16-7, 7-4. The Lady Razorbacks slumped to 9-16, 1-10.
El Dorado led 21-14 after one quarter and was up 31-21 at the half. The Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Razorbacks 11-5 in the fourth.
Diamond Hawthorne scored 15 points, including seven in the final quarter, to lead the Lady Wildcats. Jessica Morton added 10 with LaDiamond Maker and Breya Clark contributing eight points apiece.
“Diamond Hawthorne has really been stepping up. She’s scoring, rebounding and being a leader,” said El Dorado coach Destinee Rogers. “We are fighting for our life, right now. These next three games coming up will be huge.”
Staijah Taylor and Jamiya Montgomery led Texarkana with nine and seven, respectively.
El Dorado won the varsity boys game 67-56 to run its record to 11-11, 7-4. The Razorbacks fell to 5-16, 2-9.
Joderrio Ramey led the Wildcats with 28 points and six assists. B.J. Johnson scored 20 with seven rebounds. Jarmel Love contributed 12 points and six rebounds.
