El Dorado’s varsity cheerleading squad claimed top honors Saturday in the Wildcat Invitational Cheerleading Competition, held at Wildcat Arena.

El Dorado took first place in Game Day 4A-6A Division and also won Overall Game High Performance.

“We have shown great improvements so far throughout the season. We still have some work before state next weekend, but we are definitely headed in the right direction,” said El Dorado coach Tab Bledsoe. “I am very happy of how hard they worked today and of their performance.”

El Dorado scored a 97.33 to edge Texarkana (91.33) in Game Day 4A-6A.

Parkers Chapel won Game Day 1A-3A with a score of 88.

In 3A Performance, Smackover won with a score of 85.42 while Hope won 4A Performance with a score of 88.67 over Magnolia’s 75.75. Hope also won Overall Performance High Point.

In Jr. High Game Day, Parkers Chapel scored 87.58 while Barton won Jr. High Game Day Performance with 89.33

In the preliminaries, El Dorado had high score in band chant (58) over Texarkana (56.67), crowd leading (89.33), Parkers Chapel (83.67) and Texarkana (79) and fight song (75.08), Texarkana (74) and Parkers Chapel (71.5).
