El Dorado cruises to win at Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS - This week has been a profitable one for El Dorado.

After sweeping a doubleheader against J.A. Fair, the Wildcats won their third straight by downing Hot Springs 11-0 Friday in 5A-South play.

Jacob Boshears, Landen Rainwater and Austin Jobe combined on a two-hit shutout for El Dorado.

Boshears allowed two hits and struck out two in two scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Rainwater walked one and didn’t record any strikeouts in two hitless innings in relief.

Jobe struck out two and walked one in one hitless inning.

The Wildcats got out of the gates quickly by scoring six runs in the first to take a commanding lead before scoring one run in the fourth and four in the fifth to win the game via mercy rule.

Shaun York went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI to pace the Wildcats’ offense.

Jared Rhodes also had three hits by going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs, while Reed Stone went 1-for-2 with an RBI and one run scored.

El Dorado (13-9, 5-5) will host Texarkana in a 5A-South showdown Tuesday.
