Due to an electricity outage, the Parkers Chapel School District has canceled classes today.
Superintendent Michael White posted on the district's website shortly after 8 a.m. that school was canceled for the day. Initially, schools within the district were posting on social media that they would have a delayed start due to the outage, but because of a "delay in return of electricity," classes were ultimately canceled.
For students in Parkers Chapel Elementary School, AMI packets will be used to make up the day, though students in older grades may have electronic assignments. Students are encouraged to check Google classroom or email to see if they have assignments.
With the Good Friday holiday set for tomorrow, classes will not resume until Monday.
