Outage causes Parkers Chapel to cancel Thursday classes

An electricity outage Thursday morning cause the Parkers Chapel School district to cancel classes for the day.

Superintendent Michael White posted on the district’s website shortly after 8 a.m. that school was canceled for the day. Initially, schools within the district were posting on social media that they would have a delayed start due to the outage, but because of a “delay in return of electricity,” classes were ultimately canceled.

Students were able to use AMI packets or electronic assignments to make up work for the day.

With the Good Friday holiday set for today, administrators announced Thursday morning that classes would not resume until Monday.
