Lady Bucks pound Harmony Grove

SMACKOVER - Smackover was pretty in pink Tuesday as the Lady Bucks blasted Harmony Grove 11-1. The team wore pink uniforms in honor of the Team Corrie Cancer Foundation, which was donated the proceeds from the admissions fees.

"We had a nice turnout for Team Corrie," said Smackover coach Dennis Steele. "It was good for the foundation. What a job they do and all the things their family does for families in need in Union County."

The Lady Bucks improved to 17-2 overall with the five-inning victory.

Karis Robinson earned the win in the circle, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one hit batter with four strikeouts.

The Lady Hornets scored their lone run in the first when India Garcia was hit by a pitch, sacrificed to second and scored on a throwing error.

Smackover, which had 12 hits in the game, dominated the rest of the way, tallying solo runs in the first and second, two in the third and seven in the fourth. Lydia Pullin put the game away with a three-run home run in the fourth.

In the first, Karli Goocher was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Abbi Crawford's single. Vanessa Lofton was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Lydia Pullin's single in the second.

Crawford singled and Sabrina Estridge doubled in the third. Robinson plated a run with a single before Mackenzie Preston drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk.

The Lady Bucks banged out six hits in the fourth. Crawford doubled and Estridge singled before Robinson's RBI base hit. Megan Mullin walked to load the bases for Lofton, who stroked a RBI single. Preston singled in a run ahead of Pullin's three-run blast.

Crawford was 3-for-3 with a RBI. Pullin went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI. Robinson had two hits and two RBI and Estridge had a pair of hits.

Smackover hosts Genoa Central Wednesday at 4 p.m.
