El Dorado’s Grace Hargett hurled a 1-hit shutout Friday as El Dorado blanked Hot Springs Lakeside 10-0 at the El Dorado-Union County Recreation Complex.

Hargett struck out nine batters as El Dorado improved to 14-6, 6-3.

The Lady Wildcats started fast with Grace Murry reaching on a lead-off single. Murry scored on Allyson Silmon’s double. Murry followed with a three-run double in the second. Silmon added a two-run sacrifice fly in the sixth, scoring Murry and Ava Dunn from second base.

Murry was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Silmon was 2-for-3 with four RBI. Lea Jones had two hits and drove in a run. Taylor Mayo was 2-for-3. Sydney Sprawls, Hargett, Dunn, Larran Simons and Makaylen Swint also had hits in the game.

The win snapped a four-game losing skid for El Dorado, which fell to Hamburg 12-6 on Thursday.

Murry, Jones and Swint had two hits apiece against the Lady Lions. Hargett, Silmon and Dunn all had hits in the game.

Simmons started in the circle and gave up nine runs on seven hits and two walks in two innings. Only four of the runs were earned. Trinity Whiteaker pitched five innings in relief, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk.

El Dorado is scheduled to host J.A. Fair on Tuesday.
