Rodney Carroll Blackwell, 65, of Smackover, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born December 1, 1952 to Donald Lee and Jewel Faye Stone Blackwell in El Dorado, AR. He was as a retired boilermaker for the Local 69and was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. Rodney had a great love for children, animals, and fishing.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Garland and Gaye Stone, and A. L. and Katie Blackwell.
Survivors include his mother, Jewel Faye Blackwell; father, Donald Lee Blackwell; two daughters, Carrie Lynn Blackwell, Elizabeth Ann Turner; three grandchildren; Caityn Ann Turner (Justin), DaMontre’ Rashaun Goodwin, Ricki Ashtyn Lewis; two great grandchildren, Jaxson Alexzander Ponder, Braydon Ponder; one brother, Roger Blackwell (Teresa); sister, Jackie Sparks; two nieces; two nephews; a host of cousins; significant other, Glenda Langley Blackwell; special friend, Angie Lewis; life-long friends, Joanie and Danny Orren; and canine companion, Gizzy.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Carley Davis officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
