The Murphy Arts District has announced several new performances planned for spring and summer, including a Hank Williams Jr. concert set for June 1.

According to a news release, Williams was raised in Nashville and began his career by following in his famed father’s footsteps, slowly evolving his own style as he sought to find a place within country music. Williams has won many Grammy, gold and platinum record achievements and is a 5-time Country Music Entertainer of the Year. He is listed as one of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Country Artists of All Time and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. His hit song “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight” won him four Emmy Awards during its run as the theme song for Monday Night Football.

Tickets for the concert on June 1 at the MAD Amphitheater will cost $49.50 for the pit (the area directly in front of the stage) and $39.50 for general admission. Tickets purchased on June 1 will cost $10 extra.

Ticket sales for MAD members will begin Wednesday, while tickets for the general public will be available starting April 6.
