Bible Baptist Church will celebrate its 26th anniversary as a church on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 with a service beginning at 10 a.m. with the Wolfram Family Singing and Pastor J. D. Weido preaching at 11 a.m. Weido founded the church in 1992 and has served as its only pastor.
Weido, his wife Deanna, and four children moved to El Dorado in 1992 to start the church. It operates a Christian school, bus ministry, radio program, children’s churches, youth ministry, nursing home ministry, strong missions’ program, a jail ministry, a character first summer program and a growing Sunday school among its ministries. The present church is located on over 22 acres of beautiful wooded land just north of town.
J.D. Weido was born July 21, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas. J.D. planned to be a dairy farmer and raise his family in the country, but God had other plans. He surrendered to preach in November 1986, sold his dairy herd and enrolled in the Norris Bible Baptist Institute (N.B.B.I.). He completed his Bachelor’s degree at N.B.B.I. in 1991 and received his Doctor of Humanities from Bethel Baptist College of Jacksonville, Arkansas in 2001.
J.D. travels extensively and is being used of God in missions conferences, youth camps, revivals and Bible conferences around the country. Many have been saved and others have surrendered to full time service as he travels for the Lord.
“Back to the Basics” is J.D.’s philosophy of ministry. Old fashioned singing, old fashioned preaching and old fashioned loving people have brought God’s blessing on this preacher and his people.
The church is located at 2165 Smackover Hwy.
