YouTube video featuring local father, son reaches 1 million views

Cody Bell and his 6-year-old son Ja’Keyson Bell were shocked to see that a YouTube video they posted in May had reached over 1 million views.

The video, titled “I Got Banned From PlayStation Network, Time To Call Them” is a video posted to YouTube by Cody Bell, who works at a nursing home in El Dorado, and his reaction to not being able to play video games with his son, a student at Hugh Goodwin Elementary School.

“To break it down in a nutshell, me and my son, we were wanting to play games and we couldn’t play because we were banned from PlayStation Network,” Cody Bell said, explaining the video. “We sought out what the reason was, and the nice gentleman on the other line, who was James, told me that it was because of another person who was angry about my presence in a chat room.

“We found out the reason and that was the end of the video,” Bell added.

Bell said from advertising on YouTube, he has received over $1,000 for the video.

“There’s nothing to it … I feel like I don’t deserve it,” he said, laughing.

Bell said he never expected the video to get that many views.

“It’s just that it was kind of overwhelming when I saw that the views kept going up and up and up, and I was like, why?” he said. “I was very surprised that it got up to 1 million.”

Bell and his son have an ongoing video segment they post on Mondays called Father & Son Beatdown, where they play video games together and compete to win.

“He likes making videos with me,” Bell said. “I love my kid and making videos with him.”

Bell’s YouTube channel is called Deen TV and is up to 18,000 subscribers.
