Several arrested on alleged stabbing, robbery charges

An El Dorado woman was arrested Friday for aggravated robbery for allegedly stabbing a man when he refused her demands for money.

Rakebia Q. Daniels, 37, of 314 Georgia, is being held in the Union County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated robbery.

At 10:38 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a stabbing that had occurred 30 minutes earlier at a residence in the 2800 block of Junction City Road.

Police said the kitchen was in disarray and a chair overturned.

Marvin Bradley, 53, told officers that Daniels, an acquaintance, stabbed him with a small steak knife after she demanded money and he refused.

Police said there were numerous lacerations extending from Bradley’s left shoulder to his left hand. They said the cuts did not appear to be deep.

Bradley said Daniels grabbed his pants, car keys, and phone and ran out of the house.

Approximately three hours later, he said a neighbor who had come over to check on him found his phone outside. Bradley said he believes his wallet was in his pants.

Police noted that the neighbor was tending to Bradley when they arrived on the scene. He was also treated on the scene by emergency medical workers.

Police said they later found Daniels at her residence and took her into custody. She is scheduled for a first appearance hearing Monday in 35th Judicial District Court.

The incident marked the third such report for each offense — stabbing and aggravated robbery — that El Dorado police received this week.

A 29-year-old man is wanted and a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection to two stabbing incidents that were reported on Dec. 11.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Keet D. Miller, who has given an address of 918 E. Elm, on charges of second-degree battery and parole violation.

Miller is accused of stabbing 31-year-old Cordero C. Talley several times in a dispute that occurred in the area of Madison and Block.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 4:43 p.m. Dec. 11.

Talley told officers that he was walking in the area when he saw Miller. He noted that Miller is the boyfriend of Talley’s child’s mother and Talley asked Miller not to spank his son.

He said Miller then went inside a nearby residence, returned a short time later and began advancing toward Talley without saying anything.

Once Miller got close to him, Talley said Miller began stabbing him with a pocketknife. Talley said he began running after being cut twice, but he fell, and Miller stabbed him several more times while he was down.

He said he pleaded with Miller to stop and Miller later walked away.

Talley was transported to Medical Center of South Arkansas, where he underwent surgery for his wounds, police said.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. the same day, officers responded to a report of another stabbing and made contact with the victim, a 15-year-old boy, at MCSA.

The boy said he was walking from El Dorado High School, 2000 Wildcat Drive, to his father’s workplace in the 1500 block of Haynesville Highway.

He said boys he knew pulled up alongside him at the intersection of Timberlane and Parnell Road and the driver of the vehicle, 16, exited the vehicle and threatened him with a large hunting knife.

He said the suspect lunged at him, and when he raised his right hand to protect himself, the suspect sliced his right palm with the knife.

The victim noted that the other boy sat inside the vehicle and laughed when he was cut.

He also told police that the suspect had attempted to “run him over a few days prior” and he had confronted the suspect about the earlier incident.

After cutting the victim, the suspect got into the truck and drove away, heading toward Haynesville Highway, according to a police report.

The victim said he made it to his father’s workplace, and his father drove him to MCSA.

Police said the cut was severe, noting that it exposed the bones in the boy’s hand.

While en route to the scene, police said they spotted the suspect’s vehicle approximately 20 minutes later in the 1500 block of Haynesville Highway.

Officers said they stopped the vehicle in the 3200 block of North West Avenue and took the suspect into custody on a charge of second-degree battery.

Other arrests

Jennifer L. Segars, 44, of 409 Melrose, was arrested Dec. 9 for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief and public intoxication.

Officers responded to a report that a woman, later identified as Segars, was naked and defecating in the backyard of a residence in the 500 block of South Madison.

Upon arrival, police said they saw Segars sitting on the steps of the residence and that the rear door was open. Segar told officers that a relative lived at the residence.

Police said they made contact with the homeowner, who said she did not know Segar or Segar’s relative and that Segar “had no business at the residence.”

The homeowner also said the rear door had been locked. Police said Segar appeared intoxicated and they took her into custody. During a search incident to arrest, police said they found crystal meth and marijuana inside Segar’s purse.

It was the second arrest within two days in which the suspect was reportedly naked and appeared intoxicated, according to police reports. Justin L. Morgan, 38, 204 Oakhurst Blvd., Apt. 4, was arrested Dec. 8 for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication after officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Econo Lodge, 1920 Junction City Road.

Employees said a man, later identified as Morgan, was nude and attempting to fight employees and yelling that someone was chasing him.

Morgan arrived at the hotel with a woman and he came into the lobby, where he began taking off his clothes, employees said.

They said he was sweating profusely and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

Employees said the woman with whom Morgan had arrived drove away and left him in the lobby when he stripped out of his clothes and yelled, “They’re after me!” Police said that when they tried to handcuff Morgan and place him in a patrol unit, he became combative.

Police said they deployed a chemical spray, which did not affect Morgan, who continued rolling on his back and kicking officers.

They also said Morgan would not allow emergency medical workers to treat him on the scene and he attempted to fight staff members at Medical Center of South Arkansas after being transported there by ambulance. Police said hospital workers sedated Morgan in order to treat him and he was later admitted into the hospital.

Morgan told officers that he had taken Hydrocodone and smoked marijuana that had possibly been laced with another drug.
