Arkansas’ Walker suspended

FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas sophomore reserve linebacker Dee Walker has been suspended from the Razorbacks football team upon his arrest Wednesday in Fayetteville.

Walker, a two-year Razorbacks letterman from Moultrie, Ga., was arrested on charges of marijuana possession with purpose to deliver and possession of a firearm.

Without mentioning Walker by name, Arkansas Associate Athletic Director Kevin Trainor in a statement acknowledged that Walker has been suspended from the team by Razorbacks coach Chad Morris.

“The student-athlete has been suspended from our football program indefinitely, and we will continue to monitor the situation and cooperate fully with any related legal and campus processes," Trainor said via the statement released Thursday. "Our continued expectation is that our student-athletes conduct themselves and represent the University of Arkansas in an appropriate manner at all times.”

Mainly on special teams and also as some as a reserve outside linebacker, Walker played in all 12 games for the 2-10 Razorbacks and made 17 tackles.

In 2017, under former Arkansas coach Bret Bielema, Walker played in five games and made seven tackles.
