MICHAEL W. PATE
Michael William Pate, age 75, of Felsenthal passed away Monday December 10, 2018 at Community Compassion Center in Magnolia, Arkansas.
He was born April 12, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Kenton Logan and Jennie Blanche Tugwell Pate. He spent most of his early years in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Murphy High School. He received an Applied Physics degree from Auburn University and a Doctorate of Psychology from the University of Georgia at Athens. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army and served in Vietnam. He resided in Felsenthal form many years and helped to care for his mother when her health declined. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Virginia Ball and husband Jim of Magnolia. A special cousin Pat McCrary Besom and husband Bob, of Fayetteville and several other cousins; and a dear friend, Charles and Ann Whatley of Opelika, AL and their family. Community graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Harper Springs Cemetery, in Huttig, with Rev. Buddy Lowrey officiating under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Harper Springs Cemetery Association. C/O Marion State Bank, P.O.
