HOPE Landing celebrates Christmas time

In celebration of the holiday season and as a fundraiser for HOPE Landing, people congregated for Christmas at the Ranch on Saturday afternoon.

The event, which included festivities for the kids, pictures with Santa and a steak cook off. The cook off itself had 33 teams from multiple states including Texas, Florida, Arkansas and Minnesota.

“I love doing (Steak Cook off Associations) competitions,” Troy Johnson, a griller from Minnesota, said. “It’s great to be able to do two in one weekend and its a great cause.”

Kristi Lowery, President & CEO of HOPE Landing, said the event was a wonderful success.

“We wanted to bring awareness of HOPE Landing and celebrate Christmas with family and members of the community,” Lowery said. “Part of it was to bring people to HOPE Landing, and to let them know that we’re here.”

The event also served as a fundraiser for HOPE Landing. The mission of HOPE Landing is to bring hope and purpose to the lives of children with disabilities by helping them achieve “their God-given potential.” The organization provides traditional therapies such as physical and speech therapies to children with disabilities as well as non-traditional therapies such as equine, aquatic and small pet therapies.
