The Diamond Agency recently announced the addition of an interim editor for the city of El Dorado’s quarterly relocation and tourism magazine, the El Dorado Insider.
Carol McDade, managing director of The Diamond Agency and publisher of the El Dorado Insider, announced Anne Hegi as interim editor for the publication this month. Hegi will oversee the annual Holiday Gift Guide and the 2018 Newcomers’ and Visitors’ Guide.
“We are delighted to have Anne as part of the El Dorado Insider team,” McDade said. “We have worked with Anne on numerous projects over the years and we welcome her gifts and talents. She is an asset to our community as well as the magazine staff.” Hegi is a long-time resident of El Dorado and a graduate of El Dorado High School. She has a degree in journalism/magazine editing and production from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
“I’m excited about this opportunity,” Hegi said. “I love El Dorado and the people who make it home. The El Dorado Insider is a great way to share that with people locally, as well as outside our area. We have so much to tell and there are so many exciting things going on in El Dorado right now, especially with the opening of the Murphy Arts District. I am proud to have the opportunity to showcase the positive things that are happening and honored to join such a talented group of people.”
Hegi started in El Dorado at Sherrel Johnson Communications and has worked as a marketing and public relations consultant for the Medical Center of South Arkansas and El Dorado Public Schools. She most recently served as a consultant for the Union County Community Foundation, assisting with website and online application development.
Hegi serves on the board of directors of the Agape House Children’s Home and Interfaith Help Services. She has also served on the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society Board, the Camp Fire Board and as a member of the El Dorado Service League.
Hegi and her husband, Chris, are members of First Baptist Church where they serve in the youth department. They have two children, Will Hegi (Morgan) of Cabot and Allie Williams (Stephen) of Little Rock. Will and Allie are both graduates of Ouachita Baptist University and are currently pursuing postgraduate degrees.
