Arts center announces new board members

EL DORADO — The South Arkansas Arts Center has announced the 2017 incoming class of new members for its board of directors.

Installed at the last board meeting were Paul Choate, Sheila Talley, Lynn Dwight, Jay Brooks, Ronnie Bell, Dinah Van Hook, Magen Olive and Joan Coffey. The new board members will serve a three-year term as the governing board for SAAC, along with the existing members.

Officers for the upcoming year are as follows: Dwayne Daniels, president; Paul Choate, vice president; Molly Shepherd, secretary and Donna Bevill, treasurer. The past president is John Lowery.

As the cultural link for the people living in South Arkansas and North Louisiana, SAAC provides monthly gallery exhibits, community theatre productions and on-site classes for adults and children in visual arts, dance and drama. SAAC’s facility houses three art galleries, a 207-seat theatre, a scene and costume shop, a ballet studio, educational classroom space, and an open studio for artists. SAAC is located at 110 East 5th Street in El Dorado, Arkansas.
