The annual 40 Days of Prayer campaign continued Wednesday night with a prayer walk in El Dorado. A large group gathered at the El Dorado Police Department and ventured from there to City Hall, the El Dorado School District central office and, finally, to the Union County Courthouse. At each stop, prayers were led by local pastors and officials. Topics included the police department, city, county, state and national government, education and students and, with the 2020 election undecided and looming in the background, national unity and peace. Organizer Kent Jobe thanked the EPD for helping to direct traffic and lead the procession across town as well as the many organizers and participants in 40 Days of Prayer. The 40 Days of Prayer campaign will conclude on Monday, Nov. 9. (Matt Hutcheson/News-Times)
