Local residents protest Confederate monument

Local residents gathered again at the Union County Courthouse on Monday, July 6 to protest the Confederate monument on the Courthouse grounds. There was a large police presence due to rumors of potential property damage. A Union County Sheriff's Captain said there was nothing to substantiate the rumors as the demonstration wound down Monday evening.
