Early morning showers didn’t stop people from showing up to the 27th annual South Arkansas Mayhaw Festival yesterday. The runners kicked off the event by participating in the 5K and 10K run. Along with a plant sale by the Union County Master Gardeners, attendees participated in a Mayhaw biscuit breakfast, attended tours of the historic Newton House Museum and the South Arkansas Historical and Preservation Society. Unique and antique cars were present along with live music. A variety of food vendors were present as children played visited booths containing arts and crafts.
