Fire damages Union County Jail

The Union County Jail was forced to evacuate all of their inmates to the recreation yard for a brief period Wednesday night after an electrical fire erupted in the kitchen.

Open House

Open House: South Arkansas Developmental Center for Children and Families (SADCCF) held an open house Wednesday, educating the community on the services they provide. The open house included a dunk tank, face painting, food, games for the children, door prizes and more. In attendance at the open house were members of the El Dorado Fire Department, who brought a fire truck. SADCCF provides day programs for people with developmental disabilities. The center provides child services from 8-weeks to 5-years-old who have been identified or are at risk of developmental delay. Luncheon

Luncheon: The Waiting to Excel — Summer Camp hosted a first responder’s luncheon Friday at St. John’s Missionary Baptist church. Barry Dobson said the reason they hold the luncheon each year is to teach the kids how to give back to the community and show the first responders they appreciate what they do for the community.
