Ramey's 39 points lifts El Dorado to win over Zebras

By Tony Burns Sports Editor El Dorado’s Joderrio Ramey scored a career-high 39 points Tuesday as the Wildcats staved off Pine Bluff 92-85 at Wildcat Arena. The Zebras drained 12 3-pointers in the game while El Dorado hit just once from beyond the arc.

Lady Warrior to make history

West Side Christian’s Anna Williams is scheduled to sign a national letter-of-intent to play volleyball today with the University of Central Arkansas. The 6-foot-1 senior is believed to be the first athlete in school history to sign to compete at the Division I level in any sport.

Smackover playoff game moved to El Dorado

The Arkansas Activities Association announced Tuesday the 3A state football playoff game on Friday between Smackover and Danville, originally scheduled to be played at Buckaroo Stadium, has been moved to Memorial Stadium in El Dorado. The field conditions at Smackover were deemed unplayable due to the wet weather.

Lady Wildcats rip Pine Bluff

El Dorado’s girls basketball team needed a win Tuesday. They got one and in a big way, blowing out Pine Bluff 63-18 at Wildcat Arena to even their record at 1-1. The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 20-2 lead and were never threatened.
