Smackover takes home district title

News-Times Staff MCGEHEE - Smackover scored in every event Tuesday and won the girls championship at the 3A 7 District Track Meet. The Lady Bucks totaled 220 points to outdistance Lake Village (186.5), Junction City (61), McGehee (53.5), Drew Central (43) and Fordyce (7).

Lady Wildcats score big in victory over Hot Springs

News-Times Staff El Dorado sent 18 batters to the plate in the second inning and cruised to a 17-0 win over Hot Springs in a three-inning game at the El Dorado-Union County Recreation Complex. The Lady Wildcats improved to 13-11 on the season and travel to Magnolia today for a 5 p.m. contest.

Lady Trojans to face big week

Parkers Chapel's softball program is heading into one of its biggest weeks of the season. The Lady Trojans, who are 11-7 overall and 7-1 in conference, are in a four-team race for first place with Rison, Spring Hill and Harmony Grove. PC travels to Emerson today but then visits Spring Hill on Thursday and Harmony Grove on Friday.
