JUNCTION CITY – The Dragons began two-a-day practices with a two-hour workout Monday morning, focusing on conditioning and defense.

High school teams will strap on pads beginning Thursday. For now, Junction City and other teams will concentrate on conditioning and non-contact drills.

The Dragons will practice at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. all this week, said head coach David Carpenter. It will be hot and humid, but he told players don’t expect any sympathy, from coaches and their teammates.
