El Dorado’s Elizabeth Wells endured one of her biggest golfing disappointments last week, falling one stroke short of qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Denver.

The SMU signee is in Dallas this week, trying to put that setback out of her mind. Wells tees off today in the 78th Women’s TRANS Amateur Championship, which is being held at Bent Tree Country Club.

The format consists of two days of qualifying before match play begins on Wednesday, when the field will be cut in half.
