El Dorado’s Alecia Williams enters this year’s Meet of Champions chasing an opponent she can’t catch. In Williams’ high school career, Searcy’s Whitney Jones has been the only sprinter to consistently beat her to the finish line.

Williams won the 6A state championship in both the 100 and 200 last week. But, Jones didn’t compete due to an injury. Jones won’t compete at the Meet of Champions, either, which puts a slight damper on the whole event.
