It’s funny how fate can intervene and push someone through unexpected door in life. Had Robert Upshaw not broken his hand during a basketball game, he may have gone on to a lengthy career in baseball. Instead, Upshaw became a two-sport standout at Southern Arkansas and later became the Central Arkansas Area Director for the Arkansas Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Upshaw spoke of how the injury has transformed him during his speech at the AmerCable/News-Times Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet on Thursday night.
