The recently past softball season in Union County was very exciting.

There were several talented players who helped their squads perform at a high level. This year three area teams advanced to the semifinal round of their respective state tournaments. However, only five of the many highly qualified student-athletes were honored as being a News-Times Softball Player of the Year Finalist.
