Woodlawn upends Parkers Chapel 6-5



PINE BLUFF – To become the best, you have to beat the best. Woodlawn did exactly that at Taylor Field on Monday, as the Bears roughed up Jake Atwell for six runs in 2 1/3 innings and held on for a 6-5 victory over Parkers Chapel in the semifinals of the 2A State Baseball Tournament.

The win sends Woodlawn (32-5) into Friday’s championship game at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville against Dierks, and ends Parkers Chapel’s (32-7) run as the 2A state champions.
