Williams picks Arkansas State

When a high school athlete signs their name on a college scholarship, it’s normally a happy occasion. Still, anyone who knows Alecia Williams’ story understood Thursday when the El Dorado senior was wiping away tears from her eyes.

It was a long, bumpy road but Williams fulfilled a dream by signing a college letter-of-intent to run track at Arkansas State University.

Williams, who helped the Lady Wildcats finish second in the 6A South Meet on Wednesday, said she felt most comfortable with the program in Jonesboro.
