After stunning Murfreesboro last Saturday to qualify for the state tournament, Norphlet (12-17) will look to score another upset today in the opening round of the 2A State Baseball Tournament when they take on Tuckerman (27-6).

Game time is set for 5 p.m. The Bulldogs enter as the champions of the 2A North Region, while the Leopards enter the No. 4 seed from the South.

“We’ve had a pretty good season,” said Tuckerman coach Morgan Gilbert. “We’ve been pretty consistent. We’re not really outstanding in any one area.”
