When you have a rich history in baseball that includes seven state championships and 31 appearances in the state tournament, you’re going to draw a lot of attention at this time of year.

Such is the case for Junction City (25-12), who opens play in the 2A State Baseball Tournament as the South’s No. 3 seed on Friday night against Marked Tree (19-9), who is the No. 2 seed out of the North. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
