EL DORADO – A motion to dismiss a civil lawsuit filed against Columbia County Chief Deputy Prosecuting David Butler has been denied in U.S. District Court.

The lawsuit, filed April 20, 2009, was initiated by Philepia Turner of El Dorado through her attorney, John W. Walker of Little Rock, and will be heard in court.

Turner alleged that Butler, once being her defense attorney, tried to have her arrested one day before the suit was filed because he became privy to information concerning her intentions to take him to court.
