The National Weather Service in Shreveport, La., said Tuesday that Union County had three tornadoes in Thursday’s massive storm system, which also led to widespread flooding and contributed to one death in Louisiana and five deaths in Arkansas.

Meteorologist Keith Stellman said Bill Parker and Mike Berry of the NWS’ Shreveport office visited Union County Monday night and confirmed the tornadoes near Junction City and Smackover.
