CALION – On display at Calion City Hall is part of a large collection of photographs and historical data which have been collected by Maxwell Nelson, a news release said.

A lifelong resident of Calion, Nelson has a vast memory of the city when Nicky Brothers Lumber and Calion Lumber Co. sawmills were in operation, of river boats and barges trafficking the Ouachita River, the opening of the old river bridge and the city flooding before the levee was built.
