Increases in well levels were reported to the Union County Conservation Board on Wednesday by Sherrel Johnson, grants administrator

Water levels at Union School were reported to have risen 8.4 feet since April of 2008. The Smackover water level increase for the same time period was 4.8 feet. Similar increases were also found at Magnolia, Spencer, La., Junction City, La., the airport, the Welcome Center and Monsanto. Water level readings represent the depth to water (below ground level) in a particular well.
