FARMERVILLE, La. – The closing of the Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Farmerville may affect the number of students enrolled in the Union Parish Schools and subsequently the amount of money the school has to fund its operations. The Union Parish School Board reviewed the possibility of losing about 125 students with the closing of Pilgrim’s. Not knowing the effect on student population next year and the school’s funds to support the Spearsville Pre-School program, the board voted to not continue the program next year.
