Some scams never seem to go away, and in such hard economic times, scam artists are once again using an offer of free money, the “secret shoppers” or “mystery shoppers” scam, to defraud Arkansas consumers.

In the last few weeks, the Public Protection Department of Attorney General Dustin McDaniel’s office has received several complaints and inquiries about this scam, prompting McDaniel to issue a consumer alert.
