Great Lakes Chemical Corp., a Chemtura Co., announced Monday that it is continuing to monitor effects of current economic conditions and has plans to call back 31 employees who were laid off last year.

Over 100 employees still have temporary layoff status and there have been 30 permanent reductions in both salaried and hourly personnel, Patty Cardin, manager of public relations, said.
