Officials at industrial cable manufacturer AmerCable, announced Thursday that they had been forced to lay off 43 workers at their El Dorado facility. All affected employees have been notified, according to company officials.

The El Dorado plant employs approximately 345 workers.

The layoffs are part of a company-wide plan to “position ourselves to remain in a good financial position as we move into the future,” said Erick Wiggins, director of human resources at AmerCable.
